(22 MARCH) Kim has booked her second match win in as many days after defeating Germany's Julia Goerges to reach the 3rd round of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.
It all started quite fast as Kim stormed to a 5-1 lead, eventually closing out the first set 6-2 in less than half an hour.
The second set was a very different story, with Kim making more unforced errors and losing her focus a bit. Each player got broken repeatedly but Kim managed to hold serve at 6-5 and thus avoid a tiebreak, taking the match 6-2 7-5 in 1 hour and 30 minutes.
In the 3rd round Kim will face fellow Belgian Yanina Wickmayer. It will be the second meeting between Belgium's No.1 and No.2 players – Kim won their 1st round encounter in Eastbourne 2010. Their match is scheduled third from an 11am start on the Grandstand and should thus not start before 2.30pm, local time.
